Useful information

The details set out below are intended to advise you on best practice when with us and give you an idea of what to expect in Montenegro.

Accommodation This cost is always part of the stated price, whether it is in hotels, motels, lodges, or camping. We try to choose the accommodation that offers the best combination of convenient location and atmosphere.

Adventure guides Please note that whilst we assign guides to adventures well in advance, we reserve the right to make changes if necessary.

Equipment All basic communal camping equipment is supplied by us. This includes all cooking and eating utensils and tents. You will normally need to bring a sleeping bag, foam or inflatable mat, walking boots, a daypack and other personal items. A full clothing/equipment list will be sent out to you on booking.

Extensions & private parties Should you wish to extend your Montenegro Expeditions experience by signing up to another adventure, we should be happy to help you with your arrangements. Further, we are always pleased to organise tailormade adventures for private parties of any size.

Food Often, food is included in our price. Provisions are normally based on fresh local food. It is designed to be nutritious, but it is not always possible to make it gastronomically very interesting.

Group size Our trips are costed on a minimum of 2 participants and 8 is usually the maximum, with the exception of our private parties. We can also run adventures for a single person where they agree to cover the costs of 2 participants.

Insurance We highly recommend you obtain travel insurance that covers the activities that you will be participating in for your trip with Montenegro Expeditions. Suggested companies that have extreme sports policies include: World Nomads, Covermore and Columbus Direct.

Itineraries A detailed itinerary will be sent to you on booking, or on special request. Local weather, politics, transport, or a host of other uncontrollable factors can mean a change in itinerary. It is very unlikely that an itinerary would be substantially altered, but if this is necessary your guide will decide the best alternative in consultation with the group.

Passports & Visas UK and all EU passport holders do not need a visa to enter Montenegro and can stay for up to 90 days. Many other passports do not require visas either but please consult the travel rules prior to your booking.

Personal spending money This is only needed for any extra drinks that you may require and meals not included in the price.

Remoteness Many areas in which we carry out our adventures are remote. If you are not willing to accept this you should not sign up for an adventure with us.

Travel Montenegro has two international airports. If you are flying from the UK you can fly directly to Podgorica, the capital or Tivat on the coast. Alternatively you can fly to Dubrovnik in neighbouring Croatia, but you will need to cross the border to join us on an adventure.
