Get ready to paddle through crystal-clear waters, camp under starlit skies, and discover the raw beauty of Montenegro’s wild heart. Our 5-day Rafting Expedition on the Tara River takes you deep into the UNESCO-protected Tara Canyon—Europe’s deepest gorge and one of its last unspoiled wildernesses. This is more than just rafting; it’s a true journey through nature, culture, and adventure.
Day 1: Arrival & Black Lake Warm-Up
We’ll pick you up at Podgorica Airport and head straight into the mountains to Žabljak, the heart of Durmitor National Park. After checking into your hotel or a cozy guesthouse (depending on availability), we’ll take a relaxed walk to the stunning Black Lake. In the evening, enjoy a delicious local dinner and meet your guides for a trip briefing.
Day 2: Into the Canyon
After breakfast and a final gear check, we drive to the iconic Đurđevića Tara Bridge—the gateway to our rafting journey. Today’s paddle covers about 25 km of breathtaking river. We’ll stop at Ljutica River for a short hike, swim, and the chance to leap from Lazin Kamen if you’re feeling bold. After passing Radovan Luka, we set up camp near Tepca village . Expect a campfire dinner, starry skies, and total immersion in the canyon’s peaceful rhythm.
Day 3: Canyon Magic Continues
Another 25 km of paddling awaits, with stops along the way to take in hidden waterfalls and untouched forest. We’ll pause near Bajlovića Sige, a beautiful cascade pouring from the rock walls. That evening, we cross into Bosnia for an overnight stay at a riverside camp—resting up before tackling the canyon’s most thrilling section.
Day 4: The Grand Finale
After breakfast, it’s time to ride the river’s most famous rapids. From Brštanovica to Šćepan Polje, we’ll conquer 14 km of whitewater action—Borovi, Ćelije, and other adrenaline-pumping rapids. After reaching Šćepan Polje, we’ll transfer to the city of Nikšić for a relaxing evening stroll and a comfy overnight stay.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, we’ll transfer you back to Podgorica Airport, full of memories, stories, and maybe a few sore muscles.
