Unforgettable Experience
I did the tour in September 2023, in order to film the many wonderful sights the Tara river has to offer which are only accessible by raft of canoe. Those 2 nights and 3 days we spent along the river were truly an experience I will never forget. The sights were so lush and beautiful, and to experience true wilderness in today’s world, especially in Europe, is a very very special thing. Because of how deep the canyon is, it is inaccessible to man, and therefore you glide through a parallel universe in which nature has the upper hand, not man. The tour starts at Camp Grab, which is a very lovely camp integrated into the scenery and Tara river life. The staff are nice and helpful, the food is delicious and the facilities are good (I stayed in a room on the last night after the tour). It is a bit of a drive to get there, and you need to be ready for some serious potholes and unpaved roads to get there. We set off from Camp Grab with the van to the departing point, south of the bridge. The 3 hour drive is an experience in itself, going through some of the most wonderful landscapes I have ever seen. Once you get to the starting position, we had packed food and supplies for the two nights and three days. Doing it this way was a wonderful way to experience the river, finding suitable beaches along the river to camp at. I would say 3 days is a perfect amount of time to check out and really experience the majestic Tara River. The guides (Gigo and Baky) were kind, fun, very helpful, spoke perfect english and were very generous with their time and knowledge. They even managed to catch some fresh fish which we grilled and ate one night. It was a true pleasure having them along the ride, and it always felt safe, even though we were far from any civilisation at times. All in all, I would highly recommend this adventure to those who are looking to connect with some of the most beautiful nature Europe has to offer.

A beautiful mix of relaxation and adrenaline fuelled fun.
I was nervous about going on this trip but I am so glad we did. Adam and his crew were so knowledgeable and inspired complete confidence. I felt so incredibly safe allowing full enjoyment of the whole experience. The area was stunning and there was a really mix of plenty of relaxation mixed with a bit of adrenaline fuelled fun. The hosts at all our accommodation were incredible and we felt very looked after. We did book quite late so the whole family was sharing a room at times but this worked out just fine as we were all so tired from the days activities. Exceptional adventure
I went with my family and my daughters boyfriends in a group of 6 - all adults. We did the 3 day pack-rafting trip, we hiked, and we went canoeing at Lake Skadar. It was all organised by Montenegro Expeditions. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. It was exceptional and a real adventure. The country is stunning. I have been fortunate to travel to many places in the world, but the Tara Canyon is - for me - one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. ME is owned and run by local Montenegrin's who love their country and take pride in what it has to offer. Our guides (Adam for the pack rafting and hiking and Pava for the Skadar trip) were very knowledgeable and great company. The organisation from beginning to end was faultless, a feat made all the more impressive given that the areas we were in were remote and the infrastructure was limited. We did a day on the pack rafts to get used to how they handled and we did some gentle rapids before heading into the canyon for the 3 day trip. My wife had some reservations before we left and she was worried that the pack rafts, and white water, would be too extreme. But the training was excellent and the sense of security created by Adam and Baki meant that she felt very safe and reassured. She enjoyed the whole trip, so much so that we all voted to re-do the toughest section of the canyon again on the last day. The whole trip was better than we could have hoped for, but pack-rafting was the highlight for all of us. Adam led the pack-rafting and we were supported by Baki and Nina. There were all fantastic, they inspired confidence and, despite the remoteness of the trip, we felt safe and well looked after the entire time. We were taken to waterfalls, caves, and we rock-jumped. We drifted down gentle sections of the canyon in crystal clear water, and we had the adrenaline from the rapids. It was all incredible. No picture can do it justice. I have twin daughters. One is obsessed with sport and surfing, the other is a townie and likes socialising and relaxing . Yet they both ranked it as one of the best trips we have ever done, which shows how the trip and the country appeals to everyone. It was better than any of us could have hoped and for anyone going to Montenegro, for anything outdoors, I cant recommend ME highly enough. They looked after us in every way possible and Adam in particular wants to make sure that his guests not only have a great holiday, but that they see what Montenegro has to offer. We laughed and had fun all week, which is down to the adventure, the country, and to the way Adam looked after us. Not only was he a great guide, but we all enjoyed his company too.

The perfect guide
We had an amazing trip down the Tara canyon. Adam and is co-guide Vacki are the best guides I have ever experienced - knowledgeable, fun to hang out with and always a smile on their faces. We will definitely come back. I highly recommend any tours with Adam!

amazing holiday with lots of activities
i went with my family and we went canyoning in the nevidio canyon, hiking up Bobotov kuk, packrafting for 3 days down the tara canyon , e mountain biking, hiking for 4 days, then on a 3 day paddleboard this has probably been my favourite holiday i’ve had and that’s thanks to Montenegro expeditions who made the holiday packed with fun and great memories. I don’t think we could have had an experience like this doing it on our own. We started off with a canyoning trip down Nevidio Canyon which was three hours of fun. There were many slides down the waterfall, high jumps, swimming spots and beautiful views. We were never rushed or pressured to do anything we weren’t confortable with but of course me and my family chose to do all of it (even my my mum). I loved this tour it was so fun and exciting and i would definitely recommend it! The next day, Gigo took us hiking up Bobotov Kuk. It was a great hike. Gigo paced us well, provided us with lots of food and made sure we were alright all the time. We went quite early in the morning so there were fewer people and we could enjoy the walk as best we could. This hike was perfectly manageable for anyone and absolutely beautiful. next, we did a three day packrafing adventure in the tara canyon. this activity was probably my favourite thing i did this holiday. We had so much fun surfing in the waves, playing all the way down on the rapids and paddling through amazing sights. The Tara Canyon is the most stunning place with clear water, gorgeous cliffs and beautiful views. It was very rural. We packrafted down then camped on a beach beside the river. This was an incredible tour it was planned amazingly. Everything was done for us all we had to do was relax and enjoy our time. Gigo, Adam and Baki were great guides and great company who made our trip very enjoyable. It was an all round amazing experience. Unfortunately i was unwell on the e mountain biking tour, but i didn’t want to miss out and i couldn’t have asked for a nicer guide to take us. We took a shorter route because i wasn’t feeling that well and we cycled up to the top of the Tara canyon which was a lovely cycle. Even being sick i enjoyed every minute of it. Went to the Accursed mountains to start our hiking trip. On the first day we walked over the pass into Albania at nightfall and went to our accommodation which was very comfortable. The next day, we walked into Kosovo and walked up a peak called Gjeravica on a beautiful route through the countryside the hike was amazing. On the third day we walked back up the pass and decided not to go up the peak because we had all been a bit unwell. on our last day hiking we walked up through the forest then through a beautiful meadow then across a horse shoe ridge. We summated two small peaks. Adam was a great guide who took us on amazing Hikes and provided us with plenty of great picnics. paddle-boarded down across Skadar and a bit of river on first day. It was beautiful. In the evening they took us into the city to get the whole atmosphere. The next day we continued paddling down the river it was lots of fun and the camping spot was nice. The last day we saw lots of wildlife was a great day sadly our last. Was a great holiday.

Amazing fun in pristine nature
Spent 2 full days packrafting down the Tara canyon with Montenegro expeditions with a wild camp in the middle. Full support from Adam in a kayak guiding us and Gigo and Baki in a raft laden with everything needed for a night's camp on a beautiful flat beach with perfect swimming in the deepest part of the canyon. This canyon has to contain one of Europes most unspoilt and beautiful rivers, there were a few rafts for the first hour or so then we were basically alone in the most divine wilderness with untouched nature all around us. Wild camp was more glamping than camping with freshly caught fish roasted over a fire and even chairs! Fireflies and shooting stars came out to play as we chatted into the night. Packrafting is so much fun, 2 of us have kayaked down rivers before, 2 not but we all had huge fun playing on the way down, the boats are safe and comfortable but at the same time manouverable so you can play on any wave you want pretty much and if you fall out they are really easy to climb back in even from the water. Durmitor Multiactivity Holiday Fun++
Had the most fantastic week with Adam, Gigo and Baki on a ME Mutiactivity holiday. Jam packed with fun all week; we canyoned, walked, hiked, swam, fished, e-mountain biked, kayaked and packrafted, wild camped and stayed in the oasis of Camp Grab plus a few days in Zabliak. Everything was superbly organised, food was amazing, accomodation perfect from houses to a wooden riverside cabin in the forest to a luxury riverside camp in the depths of the Tara canyon. Couldn't have nicer or more competent guides than Adam, Gigo and Baki. Can't wait to come back for more adventures!

Amazing 3 days on Tara river.
Thank you Gigo and the team from Montenegro Expedition for a magical 3-day packrafting adventure down the Tara river. The location cannot be more beautiful, with the turquoise blue water of the river framed by the walls of the canyon. There are sections in the river that are busy due to the intensity of the rafting tourism in the area, but rafts were only present in a small fraction of our journey, towards the end. Most of the time, we felt like we were alone with nature. There were 7 of us in the group, 2 families with older teenagers, and 3 guides. None of us had ever packrafted; thankfully, Harry our main leader was very clear with his instructions and patient with the group. On the last day, when the rapids get more gnarly, he made us go down one by one in order to keep everyone safe. Pava and Mirko transported all of our sleeping gear and food on a raft, and set up camp for us on the two nights. Pava provided us with plenty of beautiful food grilled on the campfire, coffees in the morning and amazing scrambled eggs. The three guides were attentive, knowledgeable and did everything they could to make our trip memorable. I have already recommended this trip to all my friends.

The Best Day Packrafting Down The River Tara!
The best day pack rafting down the beautiful river Tara! Our guides Adam and Nina were very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about rafting / the local area but were also brilliant company. This tour was the highlight of my trip so I could not recommend it more!

Brilliant time Packrafting on the river Tara
