This remote, wild, and scenic 18-kilometer stretch winds through breathtaking natural landscapes, offering the perfect mix of thrilling rapids, peaceful swimming spots, and unmatched solitude. Far from the bustle of human activity, this journey immerses you in pristine black pine forests, crystal-clear waters, and diverse wildlife.

Part 1: Meeting and transfer
We will pick you up at you accommodation in Zabljak or we can meet at Sljivansko if you are coming from the other parts of Montengro, where you will meet your guides and fellow adventurers. After wa brief introduction, you will hop into out shuttle for a scenic ride up the canyon to Dobrilovina village, starting point of our packrafting adventure.
Part 2: Gear and Safety Briefing
After arrival, our guides will help you gear up with all the equipment. Before lounching down the river, we will gather for an essential safety briefing covering paddling techniques, rapid navigation and river safety practices. Our experienced guides will make sure you feel confident and prepared before we get on the river.
Part 3: On the Water
With the basics covered It is time to set off on the pristine waters of the Upper Tara River. As we paddle away from Dobrilovina, you will soon feel the thrill of the first rapids. The journey is a mix of moderate yet exciting rapids, interspersed with calm, mirror – like stretches perfect for taking in the untouched beauty of the canyon and the lush black pine forests surrounding you.
Part 4: Midway rest and exploration
About halfway through we will pause on a secluded riverbank for a short rest. Here, you will have chance to recharge with light snacks and capture photos of the breathtaking surroundings. This will also be a perfect spot to take a refreshing swim in the calm section of Tara river.
Part 5: Rapid scouting and scenic breaks
Throughout the journey we will stop to scout some of the challenging rapids, giving you a moment to asses each section with our guides. This section is a mix of class 2 to 3 rapids witch makes it perfect for the ones looking for some action.
Part 6: Final stretch
As we approach the last leg of our packrafting adventure, the river takes us closer to the iconic Djurdjevica Tara Bridge in the distance. The final stretch brings a mix of fast flowing water and gentle pools, giving you a thrilling finish to the packrafting experience.
